A rare Meissen spoon, circa 1735

The bowl painted with a Kauffahrtei scene depicting merchants and their wares by a quayside, the rib-moulded reverse with gilt stripes below a gilt and purple foliate scrollwork motif, the spirally-moulded shaft with a gilt line terminating in a flattened grip painted on each side with a purple miniature landscape vignette within a gilt cartouche with Böttger lustre and purple scrollwork, the sides with flowers against a yellow seeded panel, 11.9cm long (restored break to handle)
