A Meissen cockerel teapot and cover, circa 1735
Modelled by J.J. Kaendler, with its head turned to the rear and a spout at the neck, the plumage painted in bright colours and gilding, with gilt foliate scrollwork motifs below the spout and either side of the rim, the cover painted with flower sprigs and with a finial in the form of a recumbent dog, 15.5cm long, traces of crossed swords mark in blue, impressed Dreher's mark of three dots in a triangle (some restoration to comb and cover, haircrack to right side
