A Castelli maiolica plaque, mid 18th century,

Decorated in the Grue workshop with a large fantasy castle on the right hand side, its dimensions underscored by the small individuals moving through the Italianate landscape, a large rugged tree on the left, 21.5 x 27.5cm, in a later darkwood frame (some losses to edge at top, drilled hole for handing)

The plaque is listed in the 1958 inventory of Shrubland Hall, page 136 (South staircase & corridor).
