A large Italian majolica circular charger, workshop of Jafet Torelli, last quarter 19th century
Painted with an extensive landscape scene depicting two cows resting by a pond beneath trees, with mountains in the distance, the rim edged in ochre and black, 44cm diam., inscribed 'Torelli/ Firenze' on the reverse (haircrack)

Jafet Torelli was one of the leading painters at the Ginori factory until 1873, when he established his own workshop in Florence.
