A small Ryukyu inlaid lacquered table (taku)

18th century
Of rectangular form with galleried sides, supported on four shaped feet, bearing a roiro ground faded to dark brown and inlaid in aogai with an elaborate design of Chinese gentlemen, ladies and children in a broad garden with a pavilion in the centre, within a shaped panel flanked by formal designs, the sides decorated with similar scenes. 19cm x 64.8cm x 38.6cm (7½in x 25½in x 15¼in).
