A black lacquer four-case inro
By Tatsuke Kokosai, 19th century
Bearing a rich roiro ground and lacquered with several fish and crustaceans beside two large creels in shades of gold and coloured takamakie, on a beach of mura-nashiji, the reverse with further fish, two hanging to dry on rustic poles, and a basket of assorted shells, the interior of nashiji, signed Tatsuke Kokosai saku; with a copper ojime in the form of a sake jar, unsigned. 8.9cm (3½in).
