A roiro lacquer four-case inro
By Hara Yoyusai, 19th century
The black lacquer ground embellished with hirame and lacquered with two geese among grasses beside a meandering stream in gold takamakie, the reverse with a goose in similar style, flying past the full moon, in rogin-nuri, the interior of nashiji, signed Yoyusai; with ivory ojime inlaid with a peony and butterfly in Shibayama-style; and a lacquer manju decorated with islands in gold takamakie, unsigned.
