Two black-lacquered jingasa

18th century
The first of unusual conical form, with shakudo five-layered kanamono, lacquered in gold with Maru ni kumiai taka-no-ha-mon, the underside of red lacquer, 32.7cm (12 7/8in) wide; the second of sixteen petalled kiku-form, lacquered in gold with a mon, the underside of red lacquer, 42.5cm (16¾in) diam.
