A kawari hachi

Early Edo Period, 17th century
The simple iron bowl having two highly stylized motifs probably meant to represent maki gumo (a type of cloud) mounted on the front, lacquered-black overall with white hair fixed to the edges of the decorative motifs and flowing back over the bowl.
