A conical helmet
Mid Edo Period, 18th century
The unusual conical bowl of vertical plates terminating in a shaped cap, a deep koshimaki overlaps the plates with decorative motifs to the upper edge, riveted to the front is a shaped mabisashi. The shikoro (detached) is of simple itamono Hineno style laced in mauve sugake odoshi.
