British, early 20th century

on a squared base with rounded corners supporting a stave column base, with two arms for the port and starboard compensating balls (in red and green), brass hood with drop down oval viewport, circular rear drop down viewport, hinged top lid and a single light source [lantern missing]. Mounted with a Kelvin, Bottomley & Baird Ltd. compass [of Glasgow and London].
