A framed collection of bosuns' whistles
American, 19th century

a group of nine whistles, each of typical form, eight (8) in silver with various forms of foliate decoration on the drum, the ninth in copper and brass, one with a black rope lanyard, another with a chain lanyard affixed to a pair of copper rings and with the name E.R. Dickenson stamped on the tube support. The group surrounded by a green and white braided lanyard. Displayed on a framed linen covered board.
