the hull is built up in plank-on-frame construction using cherry, and constructed in the Dutch fashion, with long thwartships floors and all planking left off except for the intermediate stringers and the wales. At the bow is a delicately carved lion supported by a pair of head rails. The deck beams are of Hawthorn, and have four to six planks laid at the center of each deck. The decks are fitted with bit post, anchor windlass, anchors, deck hatches, capstan, deck house and other details in Apple, Cedar, and Hawthorn. The carvings are in boxwood, and along the topsides is a foliate decoration carved in deep relief, the stern lanterns are carved from a single piece of wood. The transom carvings are well detailed and depict three figures, one at each corner and a central figure. The model is rigged with a bow sprit and single mast with cross spars and a gaff which are turned from Degama. The standing and running rigging are of nickel-chromium alloy or copper wire. Displayed on a pair of boxwood carved dolphin cradles on a base of Acacia burl veneer with a brass framed glass cover.
