Footnotes
The label on the frame mistakenly declares this painting to be of the Constitution. The blue dusters flying from the sterns of the first two ships depicts the Blue Squadron, with the commander of the Blue Fleet leading(as designated by the flag flying from the main mast) on board a 1st rate ship, sailing past Dover.
