Two small jade 'ram' carvings

18th/19th century
The larger of white jade, carved as a recumbent ram with its head turned sharply to the left, 4.3cm (1¾in) wide; the second depicting two rams, jointly emitting wispy vapour from their mouths, the vapour in turn supporting a yin-yang symbol, the larger ram of a greyish-white tone, the small ram and the vapour deftly worked from a yellowish-brown 'steamed chestnut' part of the stone, 3.5cm (1¼in) wide, wood stands.
