A pale jade 'toad' group

18th century
Amusingly carved as a flat-backed full-chested toad with bulbous eyes perched on a group of overlapping leaves issuing from a torn-off branch, the underside using some of the natural brown skin, wood stand, fitted box. 9cm (3½in) wide (3).
