A wood netsuke of a toad

By Harumitsu, Ise, late 19th century
The large toad seated on the straw sandal, facing ahead, one thong of the sandal forming the himotoshi and the eyes inlaid, signed in a rectangular reserve Harumitsu. 4.5cm (1¾in).
