A wakizashi

18th century
Of hon-zukuri, iori-mune, chu-kissaki, torii-zori forged in itame-hada with a sugu-ha tempered edge and a komaru tip, the tang ubu with one hole and indistinct file marks, one-piece silver-foil habaki, unsigned; in a 19th century lacquer saya decorated in aogai, no tsuka. The blade 53.5cm (21 18in) long.
