Four shinchu and copper tsuba

19th century
The first a copper aoi mokko plate with butterflies, pine needles and mushrooms carved in raised relief, with kao; the second a shinchu mokko plate carved on the surface with bamboo in relief; the third an oval copper ishime plate with a chrysanthemum and a poem slip in takabori and gold and brass takazogan, with kao; the fourth a shinchu tsuba pierced with a Chinese scholar with a large tobacco pouch, the cord and ojime highlighted with gold overlays. The largest 7.5cm (2 7/8in). (4).
