Three tsuba

19th century
The first a Shoami School tsuba pierced with shaped reserves of stylized vines and decorated on the surface with designs in gold and silver nunome, inscribed Goto, 7.6cm (3in); the second an iron plate worked on the surface to resemble a woven bamboo fence and decorated with birds and flowering plants in iroe takazogan, signed Mitsukazu with kao, 7cm (2¾in); the third a rounded square plate (possibly Jingo School) with ferns in gold nunome, concentric circles inlaid in brass wire and key-fret designs around the rim in silver hirazogan, 7.8cm (3 1/8in).
