A Ryukyuan inlaid lacquer katana-kake (sword stand)

18th century
Of typical form, fitted for a daisho, the black lacquer ground inlaid in shell with panels of Chinese sages and attendants in the garden of a pavilion, within borders of trailing foliage. 44.5cm x 37.5cm (17½in x 14¾in).
