An okegawa do tosei gusoku armour

Late Edo Period, 19th century
The thirty-two-plate suji bachi kabuto with a ko manju jikoro, to the front a maedate of a wooden tray on which is a mon of an igeta (well frame) surrounding a tachibana (orange blossom). A Nara menpo with a hair moustache. The ni mai okegawa yokohagi do with areas of doe skin replacing the urugi ito and red and gold mon copying the maedate painted on the front. Ko sode, shino gote, karuta gane haidate, shino suneate. Russet lacquered overall with the plates edged in black, laced in green sugake odoshi with red mimi ito. Together with an armour box.
