Of rounded rectanguar form with raised rim, pierced in silhouette with a fleeing oni, beneath the moon, details in gilt, signed Ryuso Hogen with kao; with wood storage box. 7.3cm (2 7/8in). (2).

For the maker, see R.Haynes Index, no. H 03368. He was a student of Goto Shojo and of Kono Haruaki and was awarded the title Hogen in 1846.
