An early 18th century quarter ting-tang striking longcase in a later made burr walnut case

The twelve inch square brass dial with crown and cherub spandrels interspersed with foliate engraving, silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with foliate half-hour markers and inner quarter track, matted centre with profuse bird and basket engraving around the calendar aperture, ringed winding holes and subsidiary seconds dial, the weight-driven movement united by knopped and finned pillars with anchor escapement and rack striking on two bells, now in a modern custom-made walnut case with flat top hood, barley twist columns, rectangular D-moulded door with glazed lenticle on a crossbanded base with moulded plinth 214cm (7ft) high.
