With blind frets to the break arched hood with inset reeded columns and pierced wood frets to the side apertures over an glazed door to the trunk with canted corners and glazed sides on a panelled base with ogee moulded plinth, the 10.5 inch brass break arched dial with gilt foliate spandrels, silvered chapter ring with applied gilt Arabic numerals and finely engraved centre with subsidiary seconds, Westminster/Whittington/St. Michael's tune selection to the arch and serpentine hands to the weight-driven movement with adjustable deadbeat escapement chiming the hours and quarters on nine tubular gongs 214cm (7ft) high.
