The arched hood over brass mounted free standing Doric columns over a pair of similar quarter columns flanking a shaped trunk door of good figuring, on a base with matching quarter columns, applied panel and original double stepped plinth, the 12 inch arched brass dial surmounted by a slim silvered strike/silent lever, the pierced foliate scroll spandrels flanking a narrow silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring, and slim subsidiary dials for seconds and date, signed in a silvered recessed plaque on a finely matted centre, the movement with five knopped pillars, anchor escapement and rack strike on a bell 238cms (7ft 9ins) high
