A rare mid 18th century ebonised quarter chiming thirty-hour longcase clock

The hood with dome top over silk-lined sound fret, tapering columns with gilt capitals, the trunk with panelled door, gilt framed glazed lenticle on a rectangular base with moulded plinth and turned feet, the twelve inch square dial with crown and cherub spandrels, signed silvered Roman and Arabic chapter ring with fleur de lys half-hour markers and inner quarter track, foliate engraved centre with pierced blued steel hands to the substantial rope-driven birdcage movement with anchor escapement and countwheel striking on a large bell and large wooden carillon chiming the quarters on five bells 216cm (7ft1in) high.
