The caddy top with blind fretwork and two large hollow cast brass finials over three-quarter columns, the trunk with long shaped door centred by a brass-mounted shaped lenticle on a shaped base with canted corners and applied carved section, the 14 inch arched painted dial set to the top with a silvered arc detailing the twelve tunes in Dutch to include 'Cottelion, Rondeau, Warom Verlaat Gy Myn, Minuet, Klapperman, Gigue, Mars Van Ormond, De Surence, Gigue, Van De Moolenaer, Mars, and Suite Du Rigadon', set over a painted dial showing an automata female violinist and painted depictions of the four seasons, the silvered Roman and Arabic arcaded chapter ring enclosing the finely matted centre with apertures for age and phase of the moon, date, day and month, the large weight driven movement united by seven knopped pillars with anchor escapement and Dutch striking on three bells, furthermore playing the tunes on a nest of eleven bells and twenty two hammers via a nine and a half inch brass barrel mounted horizontally above the backplate 271cms (8ft 11ins) high.
