The case with ogee-moulded cornice over a substantial trunk of slightly tapering form to a rectangular base panel and plinth, the interior of the trunk door applied with a printed label in faded red ink "VR No 107", the 5 inch signed silvered dial with an outer row of 48 protruding steel pins enclosing the minute band and engraved Roman numerals, revolving on a rectangular brass plate and set to the centre with a shaped brass bracket terminating in a single hand reading at the uppermost position, with pin-depression lever mounted above which is operated via a circular brass turning handle set on a brass plate to the right hand side of the case which via a series of connected steel rods effects depression of the pins. The pins are re-set as the dial rotates to the 12 o'clock position via a tapering shaped brass block. The weight driven movement united by four knopped pillars pinned through the backplate , with anchor escapement with off-set pallets to a steel rod pendulum with brass lenticular bob 186cms (6ft 1ins) high.
