An interesting early 20th century Recording and Integrating Water Meter

Designed by Deacon and patented in 1923. Made by Palatine Engineering Co. Bootle, Liverpool.
The tall case with glazed upper section revealing the rotating brass drum (11 inches high by 9 inches in diameter ) driven by the weight driven movement with deadbeat escapement and wooden rod pendulum, the signed painted 5.5 inch Roman dial set above a series of subsidiary dials mounted on a signed silvered scale measuring the through-put of gallons of water in 1000millions; 100 millions, 10 millions, 1 million and 100 thousand increments and also giving a reading of thousands of gallons per hour
