A cloisonné enamel vase

Meiji Period
Intricately worked in gilt wire and elaborately decorated in opaque and translucent enamels with details of goldstone, the body with shield panels of rain dragons alternating with ho-o beneath further bands of shaped panels enclosing butterflies and other foliate motifs; unsigned, with wood stand and storage box, the cover inscribed Yoshihisa with a seal Yoshihisa. 31.8cm (12½in) high.
