Kakejiku, in ink and colour on silk, depicting a litter of rats clambering over Daikoku's sack, his mallet and gold currency (koban) strewn over the ground; signed Kancho with seal, with tomobako titled and signed by the artist. 119cm x 32cm (46 7/8in x 12 5/8in). (2).

All the motifs depicted epitomizes wealth and prosperity which probably suggests that the artist produced the scroll as a New Year's gift.
Oda Kancho was the go for Oda Sadatsugu. He was best known for his figure and kacho paintings and exhibited regularly at the Bunten and Nitten where he often won prizes.
