Tomioka Tessai (1836-1924)

Dated Taisho 9 (1920)
Kakejiku, in sumi and slight colour on paper, titled Kanzan Kenzoku, depicting scholars in a hut nestled among a mass of foliage at the foot of a tall mountain range, an inscription above, signed Tessai hachijuyu goso gaheiroku with two seals; with double storage tomobako, signed, inscribed and sealed by the artist. 135cm x 33cm (53 1/8in x 13in).
