A Minai turquoise pottery Bowl
Persia, 13th/ 14th Century

with rounded sides on a short foot, painted in polychrome with a central prince on horseback within a band of kufic inscription in gilt, the sides with four horsemen, a continuous lobed motif on the rim, all on a turquoise ground, verso with a band of inscription

Acquired, 1973.

The inscription in kufic within the interior is a repetition of; 'Glory and'; the outer inscription reads: 'Perpetual Glory and Prosperity'.
