Persian and Arabic manuscript on paper, 294 leaves, 17 lines to the page written in naskhi script in black ink, significant words and sentences picked out in red throughout, margins ruled in blue, catchwords in wide margins, one illuminated headpiece in colours and gold, some dampstaining, tears crudely repaired, some gatherings loose, browned, brown morocco with stamped central medallions of gilt paper onlay decorated with serrated leaves and floral motifs, lacking flap, one corner defective, edges worn, 235 x 145 mm.; and two other manuscripts: al-Nafi'a fi mukhtasar al-shara'yi, jurisprudence, Persia, dated AH 1232/AD 1816; and Kitab 'ayn al-hayat, Persia, 18th/19th Century; and a certificate attesting to the award of Commander of the Order of Leopold to General Archak Khan, aide-de-camp to the Shah of Persia, signed by the Secretary-General of the Foreign Ministry on behalf of King Leopold II of Belgium, dated 15th December 1898
