A rare Achaemenid silver Bowl
Persia, 7th-5th Century B.C.

the double-skinned bowl with curved sides decorated on the interior with four incised figures of ibexes, their heads turned back, with a thick backwards-arching horn, and details of the fur around the jawline and under the belly, with a short curled tufty tail, the central omphalos surrounded by incised concentric rings, set on a raised ring base, some old restoration
17.7 cm diam.
